Indian Overseas Bank LBO 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions specified in the IOB LBO notification 2026 before applying. Ineligible candidates are disqualified at any stage of the selection process.
Educational Qualification
- A Degree (graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India
- Any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government is also accepted
- Candidates must possess a valid mark sheet or degree certificate confirming graduation on the date of registration
- Percentage of marks obtained in graduation must be indicated while registering online
Age Limit
The minimum age is 20 years and maximum age is 30 years as on the date specified in the official notification. Reserved category candidates are eligible for age relaxation as below.
Local Language Requirement
This is a critical eligibility condition specific to IOB LBO. Candidates must have proficiency in the local language of the state they are applying for — reading, writing and speaking. The language is tested in a separate Local Language Test after the CBT.

Indian Overseas Bank LBO 2026 Selection Process
The IOB LBO 2026 selection process has three stages. Candidates must qualify each stage to proceed to the next. The final merit list is based on the combined performance in the Computer-Based Test and Personal Interview.
- 1Computer-Based Test (CBT) — Online exam with 140 questions and 200 marks over 3 hours. Covers Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, Data Analysis and Interpretation, and English Knowledge. Candidates are shortlisted based on CBT performance for the next stage.
- 2Local Language Test — Tests proficiency in reading, writing and speaking the local language of the state applied for — Tamil, Kannada, Marathi or Gujarati. This is a qualifying stage. Candidates who fail the local language test are not eligible for the final stage.
- 3Personal Interview — Candidates who qualify the Local Language Test are called for a personal interview. The final selection and merit list are based on the combined scores of the Computer-Based Test and Personal Interview.
