BEL Probationary Engineer 2026 – Bharat Electronics Limited

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is India's premier defence electronics PSU — designing, developing, and manufacturing advanced electronic systems for defence and civilian applications. The Probationary Engineer (E-II Grade) is BEL's flagship direct recruitment for permanent technical staff. Unlike trainee or contractual roles, Probationary Engineers are regular employees from day one.

The 2025–26 cycle saw 340 vacancies across 4 disciplines: Electronics & Communication (175 posts), Mechanical (109), Computer Science (42), and Electrical (14). The exam was conducted on December 20, 2025, with results declared on February 13, 2026. Interview-shortlisted candidates have been called for technical interviews.

BEL Probationary Engineer selection has two stages: (1) Computer-Based Test (CBT) — 125 questions in 120 minutes. 100 questions from technical subject (discipline-specific) + 25 questions from General Aptitude & Reasoning. Each question 1 mark; negative marking of –0.25 per wrong answer. CBT carries 85% weightage in final selection; (2) Personal Interview — carries 15% weightage. Interview assesses technical depth, communication skills, and suitability for BEL's defence-technology environment.

Selected candidates undergo 6 months of initial training followed by a 2-year bond. Breaking the bond requires payment of ₹2 lakhs. The post is at E-II Grade with a pay scale of ₹40,000–₹1,40,000 and an annual CTC of approximately ₹13 lakhs.

BEL PE 2026 Educational Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engineering) degree in a relevant discipline from an AICTE-approved institution. General/OBC/EWS: First Class (60%+ aggregate). SC/ST/PwBD: Pass class. Dual or equivalent specialisations are not considered. Final-year candidates may apply subject to producing proof of degree at the time of joining.
