UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by UPMSP for primary and upper primary school teaching eligibility in UP. Paper 1 for Class 1-5; Paper 2 for Class 6-8. UPTET is mandatory for UP state school teaching and also accepted for Super TET (UP Assistant Teacher) exam.

Paper 1 (150 qs, 150M, 2.5 hrs): CDP 30M + Language I (Hindi) 30M + Language II (English/Sanskrit/Urdu) 30M + Maths 30M + EVS 30M. Paper 2 (150 qs, 150M): CDP 30M + Language I 30M + Language II 30M + Subject area (Maths/Science or Social Studies) 60M. No negative marking.
UP Primary Teacher salary: ₹23,700–₹75,500 (junior teacher, Level 1-4). Upper Primary (after UPTET Paper 2 + Super TET): ₹29,200 basic (Level 5). UP government has revised teacher salaries upward under UP Pay Commission 6th revision.
