Single CBT: 100 questions, 90 minutes — Mathematics (25M) + General Intelligence & Reasoning (30M) + General Science (25M) + General Awareness on Current Affairs (20M). Negative marking: 1/3 per wrong answer. PET is qualifying (pass/fail) based on physical standards shown above.
RRB Group D Level 1 basic pay is ₹18,000/month (7th CPC). With DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, gross monthly salary is ₹27,000–₹40,000. Free railway travel pass (family included) and subsidised railway medical benefits add significant non-monetary value. Pay increases to ₹19,900 (Level 2) on promotion.
