HTET (Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test) Level 2 (TGT level) qualifies candidates for teaching Classes 6-10 in Haryana government schools. HTET Level 1 is for PRT, Level 2 for TGT, Level 3 for PGT. Conducted by Haryana BOSE (Board of School Education). Valid for lifetime.

Exam Pattern 2026

HTET Level 2 (150 qs, 2.5 hrs): General Studies 25M + General Knowledge (Haryana focus) 10M + Reasoning Ability 10M + Language (Hindi/English) 20M + Child Development & Pedagogy 30M + Subject Knowledge 55M. No negative marking. Score valid for lifetime.

Salary & Pay Scale

Haryana government school TGT (Teacher Grade II): ₹29,200–₹72,000 basic as per Haryana State Pay Commission. Haryana government also offers NPS pension. Posting in home district may be preferred through counselling.

Frequently Asked Questions

HTET certificate is valid for Haryana state government school teacher recruitment only. For central school jobs (KVS, NVS, DSSSB, EMRS), CTET is required, not HTET. Some Haryana private schools also accept HTET, but CTET is more universally recognised across India.
