Andhra Pradesh Board (BSEAP) Class 10 SSC 2026

The Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP) is the statutory authority responsible for conducting Class 10 public examinations in Andhra Pradesh. The board follows the SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training) curriculum and administers the SSC examinations annually in March–April for regular students. Results are typically declared in May–June, after which students apply for Class 11 (Intermediate) admissions at AP junior colleges.

AP SSC is not just an academic milestone — it determines eligibility for stream selection (MPC, BiPC, CEC, MEC) in Intermediate, which in turn affects access to competitive entrance exams like EAMCET, NEET, and JEE. Strong SSC performance builds the academic foundation for state-level competitive exam success.

BSEAP releases the AP SSC timetable covering all compulsory and optional subjects typically in December–January. The timetable specifies the date, time, and subject for each exam session. Students download the timetable from the official BSEAP portal and plan their preparation schedule accordingly. Hall tickets are released approximately 10–14 days before the first exam date.

AP SSC board exams are conducted in pen-and-paper (offline written) mode at designated examination centres. Each paper is typically 2.5 to 3 hours long. The question paper structure follows a three-tier format: Very Short Answer Questions (VSAQs — 1 mark each), Short Answer Questions (SAQs — 4 marks each), and Long Answer Questions (LAQs — 8 marks each). Students must manage time to answer all sections within the given period.

The total marks per subject is 100 — 80 marks for the written examination and 20 marks for internal assessment/project work (evaluated at school level). Students must pass both the written component (minimum 28 out of 80, i.e., 35%) and achieve minimum qualifying marks overall to receive an SSC pass certificate.

For science subjects (Physical Science, Biological Science), practical examinations are also conducted at the school level contributing to the internal assessment component. All experiments and practicals prescribed in the SCERT lab manual are examinable.

Registration for AP SSC board exams is handled entirely by affiliated schools — students do not register directly with BSEAP. Schools submit student registration details to the board on behalf of enrolled students. Students receive their Hall Tickets (admit cards) through their school approximately 10–14 days before the examination.

Eligibility

• Enrolled in Class 10 at a BSEAP-affiliated school during the 2025–26 academic year
• Minimum 75% attendance as per BSEAP norms (principals can grant exemptions in certain circumstances)
• Completion of all internal assessment and project work submissions

Private Candidates

Students appearing as private candidates (repeat/improvement) must contact BSEAP directly for private candidature registration. The procedures differ from regular students — including registration fees and documentation requirements specified separately by BSEAP.

The AP SSC syllabus is prescribed by SCERT Andhra Pradesh. BSEAP strictly follows the SCERT curriculum — students should use only SCERT-prescribed textbooks as their primary study material. No external board's textbooks are needed.

Questions are framed directly from textbook content, solved examples, and exercises. Work through all exercise problems in the SCERT Maths textbook including additional questions. Time yourself on full-length practice papers to build the exam-pace discipline needed for the 3-hour paper.
• Science Diagrams Are Guaranteed Scoring Sections: AP SSC Physical Science and Biological Science have predictable diagram questions every year (Electric circuit, Human eye, Refraction, Digestive system, Reproductive organs, DNA structure). Prepare all SCERT-prescribed diagrams with accurate labelling — these carry guaranteed marks for prepared students.
• Previous Year Papers Reveal Question Format: BSEAP follows consistent question formats. Solving 5 years of AP SSC previous papers shows exactly what types of VSAQs, SAQs, and LAQs appear in each subject — and identifies high-frequency topics worth extra revision time.

Physical Science regularly features Chemical Reactions and Electricity as long-answer topics. Biological Science relies on Life Processes (Nutrition, Respiration, Excretion) for descriptive answers. AP SSC Hall Tickets are released by BSEAP on the official portal (bse.ap.gov.in) and distributed through schools approximately 10–14 days before the first exam date. Students download and print their hall ticket. Carrying the hall ticket to every exam session is mandatory — no candidate is allowed into the examination hall without it. The hall ticket contains the student's name, roll number, photograph, and exam centre details.

AP SSC 2026 results are expected in May–June 2026, declared on the official BSEAP website (bse.ap.gov.in) and widely available on manabadi.co.in and sakshi.com. Students check results by entering their Hall Ticket number. The result shows subject-wise marks, total percentage, and pass/fail status. Detailed marks memos are issued through schools for admission purposes.

BSEAP conducts supplementary (backlog) examinations in June–July 2026 for students who failed in one or more subjects in the main examination. Students can appear for their failed subjects in the supplementary exams and, upon passing, receive their SSC pass certificate. The supplementary result is typically declared in August 2026. Students who clear all subjects through supplementary exams are eligible for Intermediate admission in the same academic year through a special admission window.
